To maximize our reach and serve the neediest populations, ALTSO implements programs in local hospitals and clinics with the capacity to treat more children.
IDENTIFY THE NEEDIEST POPULATIONS:
Through outreach programs and word-of-mouth, our partners identify children living in rural areas who have no access to care or who cannot afford treatment. Their local expertise ensures the prosthetic limbs or orthotic devices provided are the most appropriate for the environment.
ENCOURAGE LOCAL OWNERSHIP AND PROMOTE SELF-SUSTAINABILITY:
Partners match ALTSO’s support by funding administrative and overhead expenses – like staff salaries and utilities – so that 100% of ALTSO’s funds go directly to patient treatments.
LEVERAGE LOCAL RESOURCES:
Many of our partners manufacture prosthetic and orthotic devices internally and often hire disabled employees to run the workshop. This supports the local economy and promotes the inclusion of disabled people in the workforce.
