A Leg To Stand On’s annual Hedge Fund Rocktoberfest has been recognized as one of the most unique and highly anticipated fundraising events in both the charitable and financial sectors. ALTSO’s signature event unites more than 1,200 leaders from the hedge fund and related financial services communities for a night of rock ‘n roll and acoustic music performed by industry professionals – to help ALTSO treat more children.
Hedge Fund Rocktoberfest started in 2004 with an industry-wide “call to instruments.” Musician response was so positive and immediate that the inaugural Hedge Fund Rocktoberfest was held on October 12, 2004 at Planet Hollywood in New York City. More than 50 musicians performed six hours of classic rock for a capacity crowd of 700 people. Generous donations from corporate sponsors and individuals helped ALTSO evaluate more than 150 children and provide them with prostheses and orthoses. This money also helped us establish local manufacturing infrastructure for the production of prosthetics in our pilot project in India, and provide training in New York and Boston for orthopedic professionals from India.
Now in its tenth year, Hedge Fund Rocktoberfest-New York City has been instrumental in enabling ALTSO to provide treatment to more than 9,900 children around the world. In addition to our New York City event, we are proud to welcome the 2nd Annual Hedge Fund Rocktoberfest-Chicago into our Charitable Events Calendar.
